The original RDX seemed to lead a wave of manufacturers adopting small, turbocharged four-cylinder engines in lieu of a conventional six-cylinder engine, but the 2013 RDX doesn't follow in its footsteps.
While other automakers are downsizing their engine portfolios, the 2013 RDX eschews the old 2.3-liter turbocharged I-4 in favor of a 3.5-liter SOHC V-6, similar to that offered in the front-wheel-drive Acura TL and the Honda Odyssey.
Google Images
In RDX guise, the 3.5-liter produces 273 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the old turbo-four, that's an increase of roughly 33 horsepower, although torque does drop roughly 9 lb-ft. It is, however, fairly comparable to many of its six-cylinder competitors, including the Audi Q5 3.2 (270 hp), the Lexus RX350 (270 hp), the outgoing BMW X3 xDrive28i (240 hp), and the Volvo XC60 (240 hp)
.
Despite the increase in power and cylinder count, the new RDX is more fuel efficient than before. A new six-speed automatic not only provides a wider gearing spread than before, but the V-6 itself also features cylinder deactivation, allowing it to run under on three or four cylinders when under light load.
Another gain came by revising the optional all-wheel-drive system. Though the previous SH-AWD system, which was capable of sending 70 percent of torque to the rear axle and shuffling that power between the rear wheels, the new system -- which is biased towards the front wheels but capable of splitting power 50/50 once wheelslip is detected -- is less expensive, less complicated, and considerably lighter than the old SH-AWD system.
Google Images
These revisions add up to a noticeable decrease in fuel consumption. Acura says the 2013 RDX front-wheel-drive model should earn EPA ratings of 20/28 mpg (city/highway) once testing is completed. That's a mild increase over the previous RDX, which was rated at 19/24 mpg, but it's one of the best ratings for a front-wheel-drive CUV in the segment. All-wheel-drive models are expected to clock in at 19/27 mpg -- a big increase over the previous all-wheel-drive RDX, which was rated at a meager 17/22 mpg.

the new RDX looks more upscale than before. While the previous model's lanky, long-nosed proportions almost mimicked a tall hatchback, the new RDX looks more balanced. Stretching the wheelbase by 1.5 inches allowed designers to place the standard 18-inch wheels at the corners of the vehicle, lending it an aggressive and planted stance. Ginsu-sharp character lines no longer dominate the RDX's exterior; instead, fenders, fascias, and shoulders are softer and more fluidic than ever before.

The 2013 RDX may look considerably larger (in fact, it's almost easy to mistake it for an MDX), but that's little more than an optical illusion. Overall length is only an inch greater than the previous model, while its width only increased by a tenth of an inch. Subsequently, the 2013 RDX is roughly in the middle of a diverse group of premium small crossovers: it's about an inch and a half longer than the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Infiniti EX35, but roughly three inches shorter than the Lincoln MKX, four inches shorter than the Lexus RX350, and seven inches shy of the portly Cadillac SRX.
Acura does lead the class in terms of weight: a base front-wheel-drive 2013 RDX tips the scales at only 3717 pounds, while an all-wheel-drive model weighs in at 3838 lbs.

Interior

Although clearly focused on delivering exceptional performance, the 2013 Acura MDX does not compromise on practicality. A full 15 cubic feet of cargo capacity is available behind the third-row seats (only two cubic feet less than the full-size Chevrolet Tahoe). Both rear rows fold flat to accommodate larger loads. The reclining second-row seats offer plenty of legroom, even for 6-footers. The third row, of course, is best for smaller folks and shorter trips. The MDX even offers a minivan-like 10 cup holders. Highlights include perforated leather or premium Milano leather seats, simulated Koa wood and a collection of intuitive controls and LED lighting.
Google Images
Exterior

Good proportions, clean lines, pronounced wheel arches and an aggressive stance give the 2013 Acura MDX a strong presence on the road. Details such as high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights, turn signals integrated into the outside mirrors and LED taillights add to the high-tech flavor of the MDX. Opinion may split on the chrome "beak" grille treatment that is a corporate-Acura trademark, but at least it's recognizable. The 2013 Acura MDX is somewhat larger overall than the Lexus RX 350 and Volvo XC90.
Google Images
The 2013 Acura MDX's Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starts just over $44,000 and extends to a little over $55,000 when the top option packages are included. As a premium, in-demand vehicle, the MDX will likely see transaction prices fairly close to those MSRPs, which will be reflected in our Fair Purchase Price. The well-rounded, well-equipped MDX makes a worthy competitor to a wide range of premium SUVs – from the Volvo XC90 to the Porsche Cayenne – with pricing that we feel compares favorably to anything in the category. As for resale value, we expect the MDX to perform better than average, on par with its closest rival the Lexus RX 350 and much better than Buick Enclave or Lincoln MKT.
Google Images
Acura's 2013 MDX continues to wow customers and confound the competition. The 7-passenger MDX doesn't offer a host of different trims or engine choices, nor is it the freshest face on the block. What the MDX does have going for it is a long and stellar history, one chock-full of positive accolades and repeat customers. In the 2013 MDX, Acura has achieved the perfect blend of size, power, fuel economy, ride, handling and luxury. And, despite its size, the MDX doesn't verge on looking like a dowdy minivan or bulky family SUV. Instead, the MDX retains a sporty, sharp look much like the compact RDX.

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid Review User Manual Owners Pdf Download

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid Review User Manual Owners Pdf Download -
Google Images
The ILX Hybrid carries a little more weight, about 100 pounds, more than the Civic Hybrid, which does not entirely explain the fuel economy difference. The Civic Hybrid gets 44 mpg in city and on highway, where the ILX Hybrid only gets 39 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. In my driving, which was biased toward traffic-heavy freeways, the trip computer ended up at about 36 mpg. Although, below the EPA estimates, the ILX Hybrid still showed itself to be frugal with the gasoline.

The base ILX Hybrid, without navigation, goes for $28,900, but the Technology version I was driving has a price tag of $34,400. That price seems a little high, especially when the ILX Hybrid has to face off against the Lexus CT 200h, a more economical car that feels a little more luxurious in the cabin.

As I cruised around the streets and freeways of Los Angeles, the navigation system proved invaluable for route guidance, and I especially appreciated lane guidance when approaching a junction with 10 lanes splitting off in either direction. But the maps in this system suffer from the age-old problem with Honda navigation systems, where the street names are difficult to read due to jagged letters. The traffic avoidance proved of little use, too, the algorhythm not being bold or creative enough to steer clear of miles and miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic on the 405.
Google Images
A clear Acura cue was the big dial/button/joystick in the center of the dashboard, surrounded by far too many buttons. Having used this interface in Acura vehicles for about five years, I consider myself a pro. As such, it was easy to enter addresses and select music from the stereo.

With the ILX Hybrid's electric power steering and CVT, driving is an unengaging task. The wheel turns easily, accompanied by the electric whirr of the steering boost. Throw the shifter in Drive and the car rolls unconcernedly forward. But as a hybrid, the car shows a few quirks.
Google Images
The aforementioned idle-stop feature shut off the engine whenever I held my foot down on the brake, at either a stoplight or in slow traffic. Releasing the brake caused the engine to crank up again, with the abruptness of a waking giant. The operation of the hybrid power train is the same as in the Civic Hybrid, and includes the same amount of roughness. There is no means of disabling the idle-stop feature.

Accelerating the ILX Hybrid means a tortured grind from the engine as the tiny mill runs up its revolutions. At only 127 pound-feet of torque, this engine should not be able to move the somewhat plush ILX very well, but the additional twist from the electric motor makes for enough pickup to keep from being run over.

The ILX Hybrid and Civic Hybrid also share a power train, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine complemented by an electric motor. The engine produces 111 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque, while the motor, powered by a lithium ion battery, makes 23 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor steps in to help the engine during acceleration and enables idle-stop, in which the engine shuts down when the ILX Hybrid is stopped in traffic. The power gets fed to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Features and options for the 2013 Acura ILX are grouped neatly into packages: Premium and Technology. The Premium Package includes leather seating surfaces; eight-way power adjustable driver seat; two-way heated front seats; a premium sound system with Bluetooth, USB, and Pandora functionality; an auto-dimming rearview mirror; a multi-view rear camera; and on non-Hybrid models, an active sound cancellation system that further damps noise within the cabin. The Technology Package includes: navigation with voice recognition, a rear-view camera, real-time traffic/weather, and AcuraLink satellite communications system; plus a premium sound system with Bluetooth, USB, and Pandora among its capabilities. The Premium Package is available on all ILX models, while the Technology Package is available only on 2.0L and Hybrid models.
Google Images
Standard equipment on all 2013 ILX models includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel; cloth-trimmed front seats (2.0L base and Hybrid); dual-zone automatic climate control; Bluetooth hands-free phone interface; power moonroof; keyless entry with push-button start; rear-view camera; and a 12-volt power outlet. Available accessories include larger 17-inch alloy wheels, aerodynamic bodywork, fog lights, a remote engine start, and an engine block heater.
Google Images
All three share the same basic lightweight chassis, which means all three feel nimble enough in the corners, and brake very well. The suspension tuning on the 2.4L the same as the other two models, and falls short of true sport-sedan feel. The 2.0L and Hybrid models put comfort above outright pace, and succeed in delivering smooth, even ride quality. While the 2.4L is the sportiest model, the 2.0L is also fun-to-drive, with enough pep for most people and somewhat better gas mileage. The Hybrid, on the other hand, feels very slow in many situations--too slow even for fast-flowing suburban traffic at times.

Inside, the cabin is comfortable and spacious--surprisingly so in the rear seats, with enough room even for taller adults to fit comfortably. Ergonomically, things are laid out very well, with all controls easy to identify and use without taking one's eyes from the road. Fit and finish is also very good, with solid-feeling construction and quality materials (plastic, rubber, and leather) in all touch-points. Cabin noise is low, though not quite mausoleum-quiet like you'll find in some luxury cars a bit farther up the ladder, including Acura's own.

There's also a fairly roomy trunk, ample in-cabin storage in cubbies and door pockets, with well-placed cup holders. Cargo volume is a solid 12.4 cubic feet (10.0 cubic feet for the Hybrid, which places the battery pack behind the rear seats). Visibility is very good thanks to the large windows and well-placed seating position.

There are three versions of the ILX available, named for their drivetrains: the 2.0L, the 2.4L, and the Hybrid. The 2.0L offers a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine rated at 150 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic with paddle shifters is standard. It scores an EPA-estimated gas mileage rating of 24 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

The 2.4L is the sporty model, with what is essentially the Civic Si's 201-horsepower, 170-pound-foot 2.4-liter four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual transmission--no automatic is offered with this model. It's the fun-to-drive version, but you'll have to sacrifice more creature comforts than the automatic transmission to get it, but more on that later. It's rated at 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Finally, the ILX Hybrid gets its go from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an integrated hybrid drive system and continuously variable transmission (CVT). Total combined power is rated at 111 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. The EPA estimates gas mileage at 39 mpg city  and 38 mpg highway.

2013 Porsche Boxter user manual Owners pdf Download

2013 Porsche Boxter user manual Owners pdf Download -
Google Images
For an up-close look at how the Boxster S--our pick of the Boxster range, though the base model is still quite fun--performs on track, watch the videos and read the commentary from our first drive report. And for all of the details on the 2013 Porsche Boxster, be sure to read the full review at The Car Connection.
Google Images
But the Boxster's not purely about performance. It's a beautiful car to look at, inside and out, and it's surprisingly comfortable for a small roadster. The seats are supportive, there's enough room even for taller drivers to stretch out a bit, and with the soft top up, it's quiet, comfortable, and almost coupe-like. The materials Porsche uses throughout the cabin look and feel like quality, and though it won't tickle everyone's fancy, the button-heavy control layout works precisely as advertised--and is often much quicker than sorting through the menu trees of touchscreen-only systems.
Google Images
In other words, if we could pick just one of the six cars that made our short list to buy and live with, day in and day out, with all its fun and all its faults, it would be the 2013 Porsche Boxster.

The PDK transmission itself deserves some attention, as it's the most telepathic unit we've had the pleasure to experience. Cruising smoothly and easily on city streets or ripping off downshifts as you trailbrake into a hairpin corner on track, the Boxster's PDK transmission is more than up to the task. In fact, it's certainly better than any human might be. For those that prefer the three-pedal dance, there's still a very capable and slick six-speed manual gearbox, but our money would go to the PDK.
Google Images
Stellar performance, an upscale cabin and new exterior styling makes the 2013 Porsche Boxster better than ever. Reviewers agree that the competition just got tougher for rival sports cars.

If you’re shopping for a two-seat roadster, you have plenty of options, but reviewers agree that if performance is a top priority, it’s tough to beat the Porsche Boxster. The Boxster has been thoroughly redesigned for 2013, and test drivers say that although it’s slightly larger than the outgoing model, all of that well-known Boxster goodness carries over.

As a result, most test drivers say that in many ways, the 2013 Boxster is even better than before. Its interior design borrows styling cues from higher-priced siblings like the 911 and Panamera, and thanks to its longer wheelbase and wider track, many note that the new Boxster is more confidence-inspiring on a twisty road. “It's a brilliant blend of track-capable handling along with the sort of inherent comfort that allows you to thoroughly enjoy the new roadster over extended highway journeys,”

2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Review User Manual Owners Pdf Download

2012 Porsche 911 Carrera Review User Manual Owners Pdf Download -
Google Images
The Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S have been thoroughly redesigned for 2012 and are available in coupe and cabriolet (convertible) body styles. While Carrera S models are more powerful, both trims come with a horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine and a seven-speed manual transmission. An automated manual transmission is available. See the full 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera specs.
Google Images
If you’re drawn to the 911 Cabriolet’s combination of fun and performance, but prefer a hardtop convertible, consider the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL. Like the 911 Carrera, the SL has been completely redesigned, and while it’s not as performance-oriented as the 911, the SL offers an opulent interior that will surround you in luxury.
Google Images
With more power and cutting-edge technology, the Nissan GT-R is worth considering if you want super luxury sports car performance, but aren’t sold on the 911’s exterior style. The base GT-R is a little more expensive, but the 911’s price will escalate quickly with options. Reviewers say that the GT-R’s athletic handling and standard all-wheel drive make it one of the most engaging cars on the road.
Google Images
Since its introduction in 1963, the Porsche 911 has been winning the hearts of performance enthusiasts the world over. For 2012, Porsche revamped its formula, unveiling a new 911 Carrera that offers better performance and fuel economy, as well as a high-quality interior that takes design cues from the Porsche Panamera.

Overall, reviewers agree that the changes have taken the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera to a new level. “In quantifiable terms, it's leaps and bounds better than any previous 911,” writes Automobile Magazine. “It sounds even better, it rides even better, it feels even better, it's even more comfortable, better equipped, and it's far better looking.”

Some test drivers say, however, that the redesigned 911 Carrera has become so refined and easy to drive, that it’s lost some of the character that made the 2011 model unique among super luxury sports cars. That’s not really a bad thing, though, since the new 911 Carrera is more capable than the model it replaces in every way.

Available as a coupe or convertible, the redesigned Porsche 911 Carrera stays true to its performance heritage. It’s a little pricier than last year’s model, but new standard features such as navigation help balance the scales. So if you want an iconic sports car that combines thrilling performance with everyday usability, the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera deserves to be on your shopping list.

Chevrolet Camaro will enter the NASCAR Nationwide Series event from 2013.Best-selling sports car in the U.S. will face their arch-rivals Ford Mustang in cross races as quoted inautonews.

Google Images
Vice President for Performance Model and Jim Campbell said the Sports Car Chevrolet Camaro brings to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013

"Car racing Camaro Camaro incorporates many distinctive elements include masculine bulge on the hood and grille are hidden," he said.
Google Images
Chevrolet is the most successful car manufacturers in the Nationwide series. "This car has a bold and reinforced by the performance on the race track," he said.

Other Cars to Consider

If the Camaro’s limited visibility makes you uncomfortable behind the wheel, reviewers say that the Ford Mustang is easy to see out of. Like the Camaro, some reviewers say that the Mustang’s interior materials could use some improvement, but they also say that the Mustang has more passenger and trunk space. Some critics also write that the base Mustang outshines the Camaro with better handling, which makes it a more compelling sports car.

The Scion FR-S can’t match the Camaro in terms of horsepower, but the FR-S leads the pack with its athletic handling, a responsive engine and comfortable and supportive front seats. However, the FR-S has less trunk space than the Camaro, and most reviewers say that both cars have a tiny back seat.

Details: 2013 Chevrolet Camaro

The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro seats four and is available in coupe and convertible body styles. A total of seven models are available, ranging from the base Camaro 1LS to the high-performance ZL1. The base Camaro comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. A six-speed automatic is optional. Camaro SS models get a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine, as well as other styling updates and performance enhancements. The Camaro ZL1 offers even more performance, with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and an upgraded Magnetic Ride Control suspension system.

The Camaro sees a few notable updates for 2013, including the availability of a new infotainment system and navigation. The ZL1 is now available as a convertible, and a new 1LE track package is optional on SS models, which adds suspension and tire upgrades, as well as slightly different gearing to improve performance. A new dual-mode exhaust system is also available on the Camaro SS, which offers a more aggressive exhaust note under hard acceleration. Aside from these additions to the model lineup, the Camaro is largely unchanged for 2013. As a result, this overview uses applicable research and reviews from 2011 and 2012, as well as the current model year.

2013 Ford Escape Review User Manual Guide Owner Pdf Download

2013 Ford Escape Review User Manual Guide Owner Pdf Download -
Google Images
The 2013 Ford Escape is the only compact SUV with a choice of three engines. It would be easier to recommend the excellent 240-horsepower 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine if the 178-horsepower 1.6-liter version weren't more affordable, more efficient, just as smooth, and still plenty powerful for most. The base 2.5-liter engine is probably just fine – we haven't driven the latest iteration – but we'd buy a different compact SUV before buying the base Escape S with which that engine is paired. All three engines are paired with a responsive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control, driving either the front wheels (FWD) or all four (4WD). If you want 4WD you'll have to choose one of the EcoBoost engines. And if you want the Escape's full towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, you're into the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine (and the towing package eliminates the hands-free liftgate option).

2.5-liter 4-cylinder
168 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm
170 lb-ft of torque @ 4,500 rpm
EPA estimated city/highway mpg: 22/31

1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder
178 horsepower @ 5,700 rpm
184 lb-ft of torque @ 2,500 rpm
EPA estimated city/highway mpg: 23/33 (FWD), 22/30 (AWD)

2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder
240 @ 5,500 rpm
270 lb-ft @ 3,000 rpm
EPA estimated city/highway mpg: 22/30 (FWD), 21/28 (AWD)

Features

HANDS-FREE LIFTGATE
When your hands are full of shopping bags, furniture or man things, you can just wave your foot under the rear bumper and the liftgate opens automatically. It's Escape sign language for "open sesame."

MYKEY
For teen drivers who always wanted a Big Brother, MyKey lets parents designate a key that will limit top speed, limit audio volume or even disable the audio system altogether until the seatbelts are buckled.

Interior
The inside of the 2013 Ford Escape boasts such an impressive collection of materials, design and available features that it can feel a class above. Don't try to pass it off as a mid-size SUV, though, because the Escape's interior is among the category's smaller cabins.

Exterior

The compact SUV segment is definitely developing a greater sense of style, and the 2013 Ford Escape furthers the trend. Exterior highlights that distinguish upper-tier Escape models include HID headlamps, fog lights, body-color mirrors and trim, dual chrome exhaust tips and big 19-inch wheels (which will eventually need to be re-wrapped in expensive 19-inch tires).

All-new and totally rethought for 2013, Ford's compact crossover SUV is now one of the segment's style leaders, a fuel-efficiency expert and a total tech geek. Highlights include a choice of impressive engines, athletic suspension tuning and an updated version of the MyFord Touch infotainment system. But the first feature buyers will want to show their friends is a power liftgate they can open and close by waving a foot under the rear bumper. Compact SUV shoppers looking for maximum affordability or roominess will want to look elsewhere, but the 2013 Ford Escape is as a must-see for everyone else.

2013 Ford F-150 Review User Manual Owner Pdf

2013 Ford F-150 Review User Manual Owner Pdf -
Google Images
The F-150 comes in a wide range of body styles and bed lengths, and it's up to you how to configure it. The Regular Cab has either a 6.5-foot or 8-foot bed, and so does the extended SuperCab. The SuperCrew four-door pickup also comes with short- and long-bed options, as well as a wheelbase six inches longer than other versions, with all the additional room going to the rear seats. All F-150s can have well sculpted bucket seats, and even the basic bench isn't a bad alternative. In back, the seats have a truly flat floor, and the cushions fold up against the back on four-door models so huge packages can be carried inside, safely and securely. A tailgate ladder and a side box step are stamped into each version.

All F-150s have a package of safety gear that blends electronic assistance with the usual airbags. Stability control is standard, and so are trailer sway control, which uses anti-lock brakes to mitigate the motion of a trailered vehicle, and hill start assist. A rearview camera and Bluetooth are available, too, and the F-150 has done well in crash tests. Especially of note is that the F-150 is the only one of the Big 3 full-size trucks to be an IIHS Top Safety Pick and achieve 'good' scores in the important, rollover-related IIHS roof-strength test.

More than most any vehicles on the road, pickups still offer the custom-order experience, not just in hard points but in soft points. The F-150's no different: it comes in no less than eleven packages that run from stripper XL editions to Harley-Davidson, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited editions. The F150 can be fitted with Ford's SYNC media controller, with real-time traffic information, and even with features like a Sony sound system, DVD entertainment players and second-row heated seats. If you want to get an idea of how luxurious an F-150 can be, step into the King Ranch, upholstered in natural leather, surrounded by LCD screens and a navigation system. It's like sitting in the world's most sophisticated baseball glove--and the price tag of more than $44,000 adequately underscores that impression.

One of the highest-rated pickup trucks here at The Car Connection, the Ford F-150 earns its keep, year after year, with class-leading towing, luxury and tech features, and as of late, its improving gas mileage.

With King Ranch editions, EcoBoost V-6 turbos, and a Harley-Davidson model wearing basic black like it owns it, how can the F-Series Ford truck get better? The best-selling vehicle in the U.S. since the Carter administration returns for the 2013 model year with few changes, but one of them adds connectivity to its cabin that's not matched by any other pickup truck on the planet.

In their 1990s heyday, pickup trucks excelled at smooth V-8 power. Now they're truly muscular, especially at Ford, where the 5.0-liter V-8 endows the F-150 with a Mustang GT powertrain and its sizzling exhaust note, too. The 5.0 puts out an EcoBoost-identical 360 hp: the engine's retuned from the Mustang application for better low-end torque and to maintain the truck's 10,000-pound tow rating. At the top of the range is a new 6.2-liter V-8 with a monster output of 411 hp and 434 pound-feet of torque, fitted in the most luxurious models and in the Raptor off-road special edition.

Electric power steering was adopted along with the new engines, and it's also carlike in feel, with quick, light responses to inputs, more so than any other full-sizer. The ride and handling of the F-150 is probably where it gets nudged by Silverados and Rams: it handles pretty well for such a large pickups, but the ride is just a touch tougher than either. Four-wheel drive is available across the lineup, of course, and a new mechanical setup comes with automatic 4x4 mode that shifts power to the front wheels when needed.

Under the Hood

The Edge has a choice of V6 engines and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that offers up to 30 mpg and more torque than the base V6. The sole transmission is a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic. The most powerful engine is the 3.7-liter V6 and is reserved for Sport models. Both V6 engines can be had with all-wheel drive, while the 4-cylinder Edge only comes in front-wheel-drive form. All models of the Edge can be equipped for towing. The 4-cylinder Edge has a maximum tow rating of 1,500 pounds, the 3.5-liter V6 can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and the 3.7-liter V6 can handle up to 3,500 pounds.

Interior
The 2013 Ford Edge is not considered a luxury car like its twin, the Lincoln MKX, but step inside the Ford and you might forget you're in the blue collar version. The Edge's optional MyFord Touch telematics system includes customizable displays on both sides of the speedometer, as well as an 8-inch monitor in the center stack. Learning this technology takes time, and models fitted with the large touch-screen panel can prove frustrating when all you want to do is something as simple as adjusting the climate. Front and back, passenger space is abundant and comfortable. Behind the seats, cargo room is good.

Exterior

The 2013 Ford Edge has a squat, bulldog-like stance that stands apart from boxy and more traditional SUVs whose shapes are often dictated by the addition of a small 3rd-row seat. The Edge's high beltline and gently sloping rear give the vehicle a tough yet elegant appearance. Large housings make room for wheels ranging in size from 17 inches to a whopping 22 inches. Ford's 3-bar chrome grille makes a big statement up front, and on top-line Sport models it is blacked out for further distinction. In back, 4-inch dual exhaust outlets give the 2013 Edge and sportier looker.

The Ford Edge offers a balanced ride, multiple engine choices, and a wide range of tech and amenity options that can morph it from a sub-$30,000 family hauler to a powerful, blinged-out machine reaching over $45,000.

As gas prices rise and car buyers realize they can do more with a little less, the mid-size crossover-SUV segment continues to grow. The 2013 Ford Edge is a Goldilocks vehicle of sorts, filling the gap between smaller haulers like the Ford Escape and bigger, 3-row vehicles like the Ford Explorer. The 2013 Edge comes standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) and can be optioned with all-wheel drive (AWD) for better traction in snow and other slippery environments. The 5-passenger crossover now has three engine choices, including a turbocharged 4-cylinder that is rated up to 30 mpg. The Edge faces stiff competition from the likes of Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and the revamped Hyundai Santa Fe, all of which can be had with three rows of seats.

Review 2012 Ford E Series User Manual Guide Pdf Download

Review 2012 Ford E Series User Manual Guide Pdf Download -
Google Images
The 2012 Ford E-Series comes in regular and extended wheelbases, as well as passenger Wagon or cargo Van body styles. Three models (E-150, E-250 and E-350) are available, and each comes in either XL, XLT or XLT Premium trim. Ford offers three gas-powered engines, though a V6, a diesel and all-wheel drive are all unavailable. This year, the E-Series gains a standard audio input jack, a new blue paint color and optional cast-aluminum wheels.

Other Vans to Consider

The Chevrolet Express and its corporate twin, the GMC Savana, have long been the Ford E-Series’ main competitors, and with good reason. Though these vans don’t offer anything like Ford’s much-praised Work Solutions system, they do offer optional all-wheel drive and a better lineup of engines, including a diesel and a fuel-conscious V6. The Express and Savana have shortcomings of their own, including fewer standard features than most other vans and an interior that’s not particularly comfortable, but they’re a good alternative to the E-Series.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a lot more expensive than the Ford E-Series, but test drivers say it drives fairly easily for a vehicle of its size. Plus, unlike the Ford or GM vans, it’s also available as a high-roof model, which significantly increases overall interior space. The Sprinter’s interior is far removed from that of Mercedes’ passenger cars, with a design and materials that are more utilitarian than luxurious, but no other passenger van can match the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter’s cavernous maximum cargo capacity.

Review 2012 Ford E Series

The 2012 Ford E-Series is a decent work van with powerful optional engines and helpful work management systems, but it’s missing a few key features that may make it a deal breaker for some.

As work vans go, the Ford E-Series is one of the most popular and easy-to-recognize members of its class. It was introduced in 1961, and remains one of the most common passenger vans on the road today. Reviewers continue to love the 2012 E-Series’ powerful optional V10 engine, and they note that it’s one of the only vans on the market that can hold up to 15 people. Plus, test drivers love Ford’s optional Work Solutions system, which has a tool tracker, a vehicle fleet monitor, a Wi-Fi hotspot and a printer.

However, with more competitors entering the field recently, the Ford E-Series may no longer be the obvious choice for shoppers in need of a work van. Reviewers say that all three of its engines are thirsty, and the E-Series’ base engine isn’t powerful enough to handle lots of passengers or cargo. Shoppers who can give up some cargo and passenger space may be better served by the smaller Ford Transit Connect, which is much easier on fuel and has much better handling. Anyone who wants more cargo space than the E-Series can offer will likely be happier with the larger Nissan NV or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. And perhaps most significantly, the E-Series lacks important safety features like head-curtain airbags and all-wheel drive.

Overall, test drivers say the Ford E-Series isn’t bad for a work van. But whether you’re shopping for a high-capacity family vehicle or a work van tailored to your company’s needs, there are others that offer more features, better performance and more space.

Interior Features

Like most work and passenger vans, the number of interior features the base Ford E-Series has is modest at best. Air conditioning is about the only standard feature, but that's common throughout the class. Plus, the E-series offers optional features like navigation, Ford's SYNC infotainment system and a DVD player. The navigation system even includes real-time traffic info and fuel prices.

For businesses, the options step up a notch with Ford Work Solutions. This system incorporates an Internet-connected computer that can track invoices. You can even hook a printer up to it. The system also includes a fleet management system, which allows crew chiefs to track other vehicles in their fleet. Having the exact location of a van can aid in dispatching, saving time and fuel. The system also includes vehicle diagnostics. Finally, the popular tool management system, which is a staple of Ford's trucks, is available on the E-Series. The system uses radio frequency tags attached to tools and materials so the E-Series let you know when a tool is missing.

Review 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid User Manual Pdf Download

Review 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid User Manual Pdf Download -
Google Images
The 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid is the hybrid version of the Ford C-Max, which has been sold in Europe for years. The U.S. market will only get the C-Max Hybrid and the C-Max Energi, a plug-in hybrid that is reviewed separately. No gas-only version of the C-Max will be sold here. The C-Max hybrid seats five, and gets 47/47 mpg city/highway. The C-Max is available in SE or SEL trims.

Other Cars to Consider

Most reviewers point out that the natural competitor to the C-Max is the Toyota Prius v. The Prius v has more cargo space than the C-Max, and reviewers say it has a more comfortable ride. Also, the Prius v has been on the market longer than the C-Max, so there's more information about how reliable it is.

The Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen has a diesel trim that also competes with the C-Max. Though it lacks the upright, crossover feel of the C-Max, the Jetta Sportwagen diesel has more cargo space than the C-Max, and reviewers tend to rate its interior more highly than the C-Max's

Interior Features

The base Ford C-Max SE comes with standard Bluetooth and an iPod interface. Trading up to the SEL model adds satellite radio and navigation. Optional features include MyFord Touch touch-screen infotainment controls, a foot-activated automatic tailgate and Ford's Sync infotainment system. Many reviewers say that MyFord Touch is difficult to use. The C-Max also has a number of systems that use the main driver information display to coach more fuel-efficient driving. It's a similar system to the one used in the Ford Fusion Hybrid, and most reviewers say it works well.

The C-Max also has Ford's self-parallel parking system. Even though most reviewers agree the C-Max is small enough to be easy to park in urban areas, they also say that the self-parking system is among the best on the market. Several reviewers also mention the high-tech sound cancelling audio system that they say keeps the C-Max quieter than other hybrids.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid Review

The 2013 Ford C-Max gets 47 miles per gallon and is more fun to drive than the Toyota Prius v, yet some reviewers say the ride is harsh, and the C-Max has less cargo space than many other wagons.

The C-Max is an all-new model for 2013 and is powered by a four-cyinder engine and an electric motor. Reviewers say the C-Max has better acceleration than the Toyota Prius v, as well as better handling, but several also say the Prius v is more comfortable. Several reviewers also complain about the brakes on the C-Max, which they say are grabby and tough to get used to.

Though it has a lower starting price than the Prius v, reviewers say the five-seat C-Max has a nicer interior, with more upscale materials and more passenger space. Reviewers also like the optional automatic tailgate that can be operated by waving a foot under the bumper. However, they complain that the electronics on the C-Max, particularly the optional MyFord Touch system, are tough to use and several note that the cargo space in the C-Max is somewhat limited for a wagon.

Review 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 User Manual Pdf Download

Review 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 User Manual Pdf Download - An optional interior package includes power-adjustable leather-trimmed sport seats, leather-wrapped interior elements (including the dashboard), a navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity. The interior leather treatments are available in four colors.
Google Images
New for the latest model year is a 60th Anniversary Design Package that includes an Arctic White exterior along with an Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with suede accents. Upping the style quotient is a ZR1-style rear spoiler, special badging, gray-painted brake calipers and a "60th" logo on the wheel center caps, steering wheel and seat head restraints. An optional graphics package adds full-length racing stripes in Pearl Silver Blue.

The ZR1 has the largest wheels ever of any production Corvette -- not just in diameter, but in width also. The rims measure 20 inches in rear diameter and 19 inches up front. Rear width is a whopping 12 inches, while the front wheels are nearly as massive at 10 inches of width.

In terms of wheel finish, a bright silver paint coat is standard and a chrome version is optional.

The matching Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires measure P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear. While Michelin's PS2 tires are offered on many vehicles, these were engineered specifically for the ZR1, GM says.

The car's braking system features Brembo carbon-ceramic rotors measuring 15.5 inches up front and 15 inches at the rear- the same units used on the Bugatti Veyron supercar. GM says the rotors are so durable they should not requiring replacement for the life of the vehicle.

The ZR1 is the quickest, most powerful and most expensive Corvette model ever made. It boasts 638 tire-shredding horsepower, the same Brembo carbon ceramic brakes used by the Bugatti Veyron and a sophisticated suspension system employed by a number of Ferrari models.

A 6.2-liter "LS9" V8 motor produces 638 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 604 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm, thanks in part to a four-lobe Eaton supercharger. Hand-built in Wixom, Michigan, the big V8 teams up with a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox with a new high-capacity clutch designed for the increased power. The twin-disc 260mm design provides plenty of clamping power, while maintaining a relatively easy clutch action.

Review 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche User Manual Owners Guide Pdf Download

Review 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche User Manual Owners Guide Pdf Download - The Chevrolet Avalanche comes in LS, LT and LTZ trims. This year’s model gains standard trailer sway control and hill start assist, while LT trims get standard heated seats and LTZ trims add a heated steering wheel.

The Chevrolet Avalanche will be discontinued after the 2013 model year, and next year, it will only be offered in one trim level. So, if you've got your eye on one of the lower trim levels of the Avalanche, 2012 is one of the last years it will be available.
Google Images
Other Trucks to Consider

For more utility than the Chevrolet Avalanche can offer, try the Ford F-150. You won’t be able to get the same number of standard features for the price, but a crew cab F-150 FX2 costs about the same as the Avalanche does. However, when properly equipped, this model of F-150 can tow about 1,500 pounds more than the Avalanche.

Though no other pickup truck can offer the combination of flexibility, utility and comfort that the Avalanche can, test drivers say the Ram 1500 has the smoothest ride of any full-size pickup truck. Though neither the Avalanche nor the Ram can be called nimble, the Ram can give the Chevy a run for its money in the handling department, and reviewers also note that its Laramie Longhorn trim is possibly the most luxurious of any pickup truck on the market, besides the upscale Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Interior Chevrolet Avalanche

Reviewers feel that the Chevrolet Avalanche’s interior is nice for its price. Fit and finish are good, with attractive materials, and the rear seat is comfortable and roomy enough for three adults. Even the base model of the Avalanche comes with more standard features than the base models of other pickup trucks and SUTs, and reviewers think that the Avalanche’s gauges and electronics are intuitive and easy to use. The innovative folding midgate adds even more cargo room, extending the bed space into the rear section of the cabin.
Review Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche ranks 6 out of 10 Full Size Pickup Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis of 55 published reviews and test drives of the Chevrolet Avalanche, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche is a good compromise between a comfortable SUV and capable pickup truck.

With a pickup bed grafted onto the body of an SUV, the Chevrolet Avalanche is one of few sport utility trucks left on the market. For a few years, these vehicles were relatively popular because they combined a smoother ride than most pickups and more utility than most SUVs. But as automakers improved their pickups, buyers began to migrate toward more rugged full-size trucks, and the SUT segment began to dwindle.

But that doesn’t mean sport utility trucks aren’t useful. The Avalanche can tow more than some models of the full-size Nissan Titan, and gets good fuel economy for such a large vehicle. Plus, it can seat up to six adults in comfort, while retaining the option to transform the back seat into an 8-foot bed. That way, you can have a big bed when you need it, and seating for five people when you don’t. Finally, the Avalanche comes with more standard features than any other pickup’s base trim.

If you need full-out utility and don’t prioritize ride comfort or interior features, you’ll want to look at a traditional pickup truck. However, the Chevrolet Avalanche provides plenty of capability for most weekend warriors without a punishing ride during weekday commutes.
